In October 2022, specifically from the 22nd to the 29th, the Cyprus Sport Fishing Club under the auspices of the Federation, organized, for the first time in Cyprus, the 29th World Clubs Championship.
17 Teams from eight countries, 102 athletes, 18 attendants, 27 people, staff and judges participated in the Championship.
A very large event with excellent success both in the organization and in the hospitality, brought the best comments from all the foreign Athletes and companions.
The entire event was hosted in two hotels in Paphos, the AVLIDA HOTEL where the foreign missions stayed and the KISSOS HOTEL where the Cypriot delegation stayed.
The Cypriot delegation consisted of the 12 Athletes of the two Teams, the staff involved in the entire organization and the assistants and judges of the Competitios.
A week before the official start of the Championship, the foreign Teams started arriving. The aim was to check and train on the beaches of the competitions.
From Monday, October 17th, begam the reception of the teams from Italy, Germany, Spain, France, Portugal, Belgium and Netherlands at the Hotel.
In the hall specially designed for the distribution of baits, meals for the official competitiopns and the meetings of the team leaders, the distribution of baits to the teams that had items ordered for their trainings on the beaches.
During the training sessions of the Teams that took place in the days before the official start of the Championship, some remarkable fish were caught.
The official start of the 29th World Championship took place on Sunday, October 23rd with the opening ceremony, which took place in the ATTIKON hall in Paphos.
The Secretary of the Federation Mr. Panagiotis Theofanous welcomed the President of the FIPS M World Federation Mr. Gilbert Zangerie and all the participants in the Championship, the Teams, their leaders and attendants.
Unfortunately the state was absent. It is really very sad that a World Championship is organized in Cyprus and leaves indifferent all the bodies that supposedly want Cyprus to be presented abroad both as a tourist and sports destination. Cyprus, Gentlemen, has great potential.

On Sunday afternoon and the following four afternoons, the process of selecting the signs was being done that they would be ready the next morning. Each athlete had to have his nameplate in the place that was drawn on Sunday morning at the first meeting of the team captains meetings where, among other things, the draw for all five competitions of the Championship was made.
Signs were placed on the beaches, indicating which beache is for each day, so that the athletes know where they will be fishing and the staff knows the boundaries of the beach, so that the fishing boxes and sections are set up correctly
On Monday, October 24, and for the next four days, everything had to be ready. In the morning the preparations for the meals of 147 people, baits for 85 participating athletes and distribution at 8.30 in the morning before the athletes' departure for the beaches.
The Club ensured that there were two buses available to transport teams and Athletes to the beaches.
All matches had a start time of 12:00 and an end time of 16:00
On Friday after the 4th and last official match, the final results of the 29th World Club Championship were released.
Team BON BASTOR from Spain was the World Champion
Second Team in the final classification was TRABUCCO EL PERTIGAL from Spain and Third Team PVE ERIA DAM IMAX from Belgium.
The awards for the winners took place at KISSOS HOTEL where speeches were made by the President of the FIPS M World Federation and the Secretary of the Federation. In addition to the prizes for the winners, there were also awards from the World Federation to the organizers for the excellent event, as everyone said, and awards from the Club to the event's sponsors.
This was followed by the reception and official dinner for all participating athletes, accompanying leaders, staff, judges and organizers.

And the good news is, the FIPS M World Federation has commissioned our Federation to organize two more Worlds Championships, the MASTERS on 2024 and the CLUBS on 2026.
